William Shakespeare as we know is one of the greatest writers in the world in his time and is now recognized for his work up to this day. But to understand Shakespeare and his writing you have to first learn about his background and lifestyle.
Shakespeare was born in England on 23rd April, 1546. He was born to parents John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. John Shakespeare worked by producing farm products and wool then was elected into civil position within the community between 1557 and 1570, and later died in 1601. His mother Mary Arden died a little after her husband John Shakespeare in 1608. Shakespeare was the third child and the eldest son out of seven children. First was his sister Joan who was born in 1558 and died from a plague. Following her was his sister Margaret who was born in 1562 and died a year after he birth in 1563. After Margaret was William then Gilbert who was born n 1566, held a profession in Tradesman and Haberdasher and later died in 1612. After Gilbert was Joan who was born in 1569 and died in 1646. Following Joan was Anne which was conceived in 1571 and later died in 1579. And after Anne was Richard who was born in 1574 was died in 1613. And finally the last of seven children was Edmund who was conceived in 1580 and later died in 1607.
William Shakespeare's childhood was spent doing several things. He occupied his time either in school at the Stratford Grammar School (in which english was his favourite subject), or reading stories written by latin authors and by working in a butcher shop. He was later married in 1582 to an orphan Anne Hathaway. She became pregnant at the age of 26 in which she gave birth to Susanna in 1583. Then two years later the couple had twins Judith and Hamnet in 1585. Unfortunately Hamnet died in 1596.
From previous knowledge we have learned that William Shakespeare loved reading stories from an early age. Therefore he followed in the career path he was interested in from early childhood and became a poet, then actor and then a playwright. And produced the famous playwright Hamlet in 1602. Shakespeare upon his peaks had some lost years un which he used to his advantage and came back and accumulated his riches.
Shakespeare as we know today have written many plays and plays a meaningful role in how literature today was formed.

  1. Wow.That was extremely detailed! The life of the greatest poet, playwright (and actor) with all the specific elements. However, I believe that more could have been said about his achievements.
    I still learned something though.
